from atop Mt. Chilhowee in the Cherokee National Forest...He is there alsotoo.

reaching

if i strain
and on tiptoes,
if i reach with all my strength...
if i try
just to touch YOU
will you PLEASE
just the tip
of One Finger

if i fall on my face
if i cry, will You hear me
if i shout, will You answer
if i whisper, will You know
it is me

and i struggle
all the things
You tried to show me
and i went right on my way
as if to say
'its all good, i can do this'
and i smacked the Hand of Mercy
said, 'no thank you'
my ideas seem just fine
and in freedom
i pursued them
with a passion

are You there?

does it matter
i am sorry

please don't let them
walk as i did
any
more.
take me out
send me home
what Your will
is for them
lead them to it
and the shame
all the pain
and the fallout

place on me.

p l e a s e . . . .

  1. Loree, again, friend, please contact me. I've written this poem too, I can show it to you in my journal. I get it, Loree. Keep your faith, trust the love and goodness of our God, who, again, desires that NONE should perish. His Spirit is relentless in His passion for our souls, for the souls of our children. Wish I could make that bold print or underscore it for you. For this moment, Loree, cease from your struggling. He wants them "saved" more than you ever could. There is a time for struggle in battle - but your fight is not with God. Rest in Him. Trust Him. Let Him show you His mercy which, when you quiet your own spirit before Him will begin to wash over you like waves of the ocean ... This I "see" as I pray for you. Rest, love.

  2. I just heard a song - new to me, no doubt one you know. East to West by Casting Crowns. I wept and prayed for you as I listened to it. For the lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/castingcrowns/easttowest.html Don't know where or how to find the song itself. Prayerfully yours, p
