Let Us Pray -- Part I

loreelle044 | June 28, 2008 20:26

Ok, so here we go. This is Part I of the post I mentioned a few posts ago -- that thing I felt on my heart to share but was hesitant because of concerns blah blah blah....forgetaboutit. He said share, I share.

I'm starting with the best way to share what is on my heart in a format I can understand and relate to. So hereyago: a link to a file on my website server that (I pray earnestly) will open a ".wma" file. For those of you who don't understand that, this opens Windows Media Player in a new screen. If you click on the link below, have your sound adjusted, your hand on the mouse to close the player or your hand on the volume button of the speakers attached to your computer....just to MAKE SURE the volume is where you are comfortable with it. This is not a radical rock song, it is, however, a bit up-tempo. This song is by one of my all-time favorite Christian music artists. I have listened to him for the past ten or so years and really appreciate his heart toward God. But what I love most about the music of Steven Curtis Chapman is that he writes life songs with a Christian attitude. What I mean by that is he writes love songs to his wife, songs of joy in his children, songs about living BIG (abundant life)...and more.

But this song says so well what is on my heart about one aspect of our prayer lives. When do we pray? What if a friend has a need? This song tells it like it is and I am grateful for it. Here are the lyrics, and if you want to listen, the link appears below with the words "Listen by clicking here."

Shared with giant love for you, my friends. Oh, and this is just Part I. God has put so much more in my heart to share and I am ready. This is just a quick post before I go to work (day 2 at quickie mart -- THIRD SHIFT?!?!?! What was I thinking!?!?!?! And manOHman, have i got stories from there already *giant frown*)

Steven Curtis Chapman -- Let Us Pray

I hear you say your heart is aching
You've got trouble in the making
And you ask if I'll be praying for you, please
And in keeping with convention
I'll say yes with good intentions
To pray later making mention of your needs
But since we have this moment here at heaven's door
We should start knocking now, what are we waiting for?

CHORUS:
Let us pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
For the Father above, He is listening with love
And He wants to answer us, so let us pray

So when we feel the Spirit moving
Prompting, prodding and behooving
There is no time to be losing, let us pray
Let the Father hear us saying
What we need to be conveying
Even while this song is playing, let us pray
And just because we say the word, "Amen"
It doesn't mean this conversationi needs to end

Let us pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
Let us pray without end and when we finish start again
Like breathing out and breathing in, let us pray

Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence
As our prayers draw us near
To the One who knows our needs
Before we even call His name

Let us pray, let us pray -- everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
Let us pray without end and when we finish start again
Like breathing out and breathing in, Oh! let us pray, Oh let us pray...

(If this does not work, will you post up and let me know? I'll look into it in the morning after work, before church...)

Hello

Deborah | 06/29/2008, 22:52

My dear sis, your writing paints you as a woman about to burst at the seams!! You appear to be overflowing with life and love and joy and every other kind of expression the Lord provided for us. You are a blessing to me! God made me a listener and a watcher. People who live their lives outwardly fascinate me. I hope I'm comming across like I mean to. We're all made on purpose. Who we are is not and accident. What I mean to say is that I'm glad to have met you here.

Let us Pray

Do not worry about what you say as long as God tells you. Your (our) concern should only be that of pleasing God. I pray for boldness for you as well as me and anyone who has something to do for the Lord. Keep letting the spirit lead and move you. God Bless

I love Deborah's perception of you!!! Laughing to think what would happen if you ever DID actually burst at the seams! An explosion of colorful, tickly, gooey delight splattering one and all. What fun! You ARE a blessing, and I, too, rejoice in having met you here. With love in Christ ~ p
