2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
ummm...i think we SHOULD.
with love...

(brought to you by a conversation with a DEAR thought-provoking friend!)
If you have never read through the bible from cover to cover, let me encourage you to do so. My reading-partner and I have found the history so fascinating, frustrating, exciting, scary, gory, enthralling, miraculous...you just GOTTA read the books of the Old Testament some time. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God spoke to Solomon and "my people" (Israel) after Solomon had finally fulfilled God's promise to David -- that David (or one of his lineage) would build a temple for The Name of the Lord. Great praise and worship took place, including a phenomenal number of sacrifices (22,000 head of cattle AND 20,000 sheep and goats!! SERIOUSLY try to IMAGINE that much meat!!). There was a seven-day festival rejoicing and
"He is Good! His love endures FOREVER!"
was their worship cry. Though this passage was pertinent to the things of that time with Israel and Christ changed all that for us, I still find encouragement in these words. This passage, especially when read in order from Genesis up to it, make me passionate about what God said to Israel. I just feel SO hopeful that the children of Israel are going to 'get it right' this time...but then, we all know that is not quite true. However, these words still fire me up to want to be a better light-shining, a better example...
...but then, that's just me. <3
It's Just THAT Simple...Edited.

We should be willing too forgive. Yes I agree. How do we get people to be willing too ask for forgiveness?
God Bless!

well...what i meant by "i think we should" is:
WE should humble ourselves before a holy and righteous God. As for us being willing to forgive, that is important too, agreed. But as for people being willing to ask for forgiveness...wow! you just opened a whole 'nother post for me to do...on our living example of humility, accepting responsibility for our sins and seeking His face for forgiveness AND R-E-P-E-N-T-E-N-C-E. if we really understood repentance and we REALLY practiced it, ...imagine the changes. hugs, L

I find it encouraging too, that God is always willing, always ready, always able... IF we (and Israel) would do that which the Lord is eager for us to do. Can we imagine the Mighty God BESEECHING man to "draw nigh" unto Him. We can do no better than to be encouraged in the Word. Old or New Testament.
