This just came in the e-mail at work (from the utility company...):
This week has been challenging for all of us. We want to thank you for your patience as we work to restore power to all of our customers. We continue to make good progress.
Hurricane Ike’s winds caused the largest outage in the area’s history. At the height of the storm, outages topped over a million when damaging winds rolled through Greater Cincinnati, Southeastern Indiana and Northern Kentucky. With additional crews, we are working hard to restore power to all customers by the end of the weekend.
Safety remains critically important. Please follow these guidelines when moving around fallen trees and debris, and avoid downed power lines. Again, we thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
For more information, see our Hurricane Ike Outage Restoration Web page.
Best regards,
Business Services

We had a remnant of Hurricane Ike blow through here this week. I have lots to tell, and this post will be edited at some point, but I don't feel like getting ready for work, ha ha! So I just thought I'd post my countdown and a pre-amble to an amazing windstorm that left nearly a million "customers" without electric service just in this immediate area, the tri-state of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana in the corners...more soon.
